2016 and the 365 Quilt Block Challenge

I’m old enough to have a good degree of self-knowledge and admit that I am not likely to complete a year-long challenge project in the manner set forth.  But that doesn’t bother me.  I like trying new things and being part of a group challenge — hence taking on the amazing quilt along hosted by   Kathy here: 365 challenge

I’m using scraps I have on hand.

Strips and scraps in blacks and greys ready to stitch each day. Finished blocks stored in clean pizza box.

I give myself permission to make changes.  I will skip blocks I just don’t feel like trying.  I will not use the seam ripper — chances are good that even if I put a block together wrong, it will still be usable, and in a quilt this busy and detailed, who will see one little boo-boo?  I’ll simplify blocks if/when I want to.  And if I decide I’d rather do some applique than the center medallion as planned, then I will.

That said — here’s what I’ve got so far:

Jan 1- 8 blocks plus bonus and birthday blocks
